The property

Brush country, and a place to come back to

Mesquite, blackbrush and prickly pear cut by senderos, with two stocked tanks and feeders the animals have been using long enough to be predictable. This is South Texas the way it actually looks, an hour and a half off the coast.

Sendero cut through South Texas brush country on the ranch

It is managed for the animals that live on it rather than for a headcount, and quiet enough that the game moves in daylight. You will get the gate code and directions once your dates are set.

Cooked here, every meal

Every meal you eat here is cooked on the ranch, which after a cold morning in a blind is a considerably bigger deal than it sounds on a website.

Tell us what you drink and it is on the shelf when you get here. The beer you drink at home, the wine you cannot find here, the bottle you have been meaning to try.

Rooms are on the ranch, so nobody drives anywhere at four in the morning. Full accommodation with laundry service and Wi-Fi come with every hunt. Ask about meals and bar preferences when you plan your trip.

A chef is available on site, depending on your hunt.

The ranch runs a small number of hunts by choice, so the place is never being turned over around you. Tell us how many are coming and we will tell you straight whether it fits.

The lodge kitchen: an island, dark cabinets and mounts on the walls
The lodge living room: leather sofas facing a dark wall hung with mounted trophies

The covered patio at the lodge: an outdoor dining table under an antler chandelier, brush country beyond
A fire burning in a Texas star fire ring on the lodge patio after dark, chairs pulled up around it

The trip does not end when the animal drops

Take your animal on the first morning and the rest of your stay is still yours. That is not a problem to solve, it is most of the reason people come back.

Catfish in the tanks

Two stocked tanks on the property. Rods are here.

Wing shooting

Dove in season. Ask when you plan your hunt.

The .50

There is a fifty caliber on the ranch. Ask about it.
